Imorgon | Enhanced Ultrasound Reporting Automation at RSNA

New Imorgon Report Accelerator Auto-Populates Ultrasound Reports; Improves Accuracy, Saves Resources

CHICAGO, IL — (Marketwire) — 11/26/12 — a developer of advanced integrated software solutions that enable the full potential of diagnostic ultrasound, announced that it will showcase its solution and introduce the new Imorgon at the 98th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), Nov. 25-30, 2012. The company also announced the pending installation of its Report Accelerator at Main Street Radiology in Queens, New York.

“Main Street Radiology is excited to have purchased Imorgon’s Report Accelerator solution,” said ., medical director, Main Street Radiology. “We expect to achieve immediate improvements in the accuracy of dictated reports for our ultrasound procedures. With the Report Accelerator, data from our ultrasound systems will now auto-populate Power Scribe 360 | Report templates.

“We will also reduce the burden of dictating from our paper forms, which is an added benefit of Report Accelerator and contributes to additional time savings and reporting accuracy,” continued Dr. Carl.

Imorgon’s is designed to improve efficiency and diagnostic quality of ultrasound in hospitals and imaging centers by reducing the time it takes for radiologists and sonographers to perform exams and report data. IntegratedUltrasound is optimized for viewing ultrasound studies within an integrated, image-viewing environment, enabling physicians to automatically display all of a patient’s ultrasound studies, including clips and still images simultaneously on the same workstation used to view PACS images.

The Imorgon Report Accelerator receives DICOM Structure Report (SR) data from the ultrasound system into the Imorgon server, and the Report Accelerator parses the data and transfers it into the dictation system report templates. The auto-population of reports eliminates the need for numeric dictation of ultrasound measurements and data from hand-written reports. As a result, reporting accuracy and patient safety are both improved.

“Main Street Radiology will be one of the first private practices using Report Accelerator to transfer data seamlessly from the ultrasound system into PowerScribe 360 | Report,” said , president and chief executive officer, Imorgon. “Currently, Main Street Radiology’s sonographers use paper forms to convey information to the radiologist and information that is not captured by the ultrasound system still needs to be dictated by the radiologist. The installation of Report Accelerator will include a new feature that eliminates paper forms, and pertinent data from the forms can auto-populate Power Scribe 360 | Report templates.

“We believe the overall improvement in accuracy and reduction in time should have a significant impact on Main Street Radiology’s ultrasound workflow,” continued Kreuzer.

IntegratedUltrasound is based on the DICOM industry standard for transferring images and other medical information between computers, and on the HL7 communications standard for Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
