Imorgon a 2010 AuntMinnie.com “Best New Ultrasound Viewing” Award Finalist

CHICAGO, Oct. 23, 2010 – Imorgon, the developer of advanced integrated software solutions that enable the full potential of diagnostic ultrasound viewing, announced that the company has been selected as a finalist, one of two vendors, by Auntminnie.com for its 2010 Minnie award for “Best New Radiology Vendor.” [Link] The annual award is part of a campaign created by Auntminnie.com, a leading Internet community site for radiologists and the related medical imaging community, to recognize excellence in radiology.

“Imorgon is honored to receive this prestigious award and recognition from Auntminnie.com and its expert panel of editors and radiology professionals,” said Lloyd Kreuzer, Ph.D., president and chief executive officer of Imorgon. “We are thrilled to be recognized for our innovative solution that utilizes computer technology in a unique way to enable the full potential of ultrasound by improving workflow efficiency and diagnostic accuracy.”

Imorgon’s Ultrasound Viewing is a software-only solution that is designed to operate independently or integrate seamlessly with a hospital’s current multi-modality PACS. The solution is optimized for viewing ultrasound studies within an integrated, image-viewing environment and it enables radiologists to automatically display all of a patient’s ultrasound studies, including clips and still images simultaneously on the same Microsoft® Windows workstation used to view CT and MRI images.

Imorgon also offers comprehensive, instant access to all of a patient’s prior imaging data from CT, MRI and ultrasound, without switching workstations or re-entering patient data. IntegratedUltrasound is based on the DICOM industry standard for transferring radiologic images and other medical information between computers, and on the HL7 communications standard for hospital information systems (HIS). In addition, Imorgon’s IntegratedUltrasound solution delivers a scalable architecture including options such as DICOM structured reporting, which allows automatic transfer of measurements made on the ultrasound system during a patient’s exam directly into the patient report. As a result, reporting errors are decreased and patient safety is improved.

I am proud to have made a meaningful impact on many lives by improving the utility of diagnostic ultrasound worldwide. For over 20 years, I have been part of the diagnostic ultrasound community in various corporate roles, including leadership roles in sales, product management, and research.  Working with both committed clinicians and extremely talented scientists, we have brought new capabilities to ultrasound.  We have enabled ultrasound to provide more information and across a large habitus of patients to Radiologists - allowing for a diagnosis without follow-up exams using contrast agents or radiation.  I have been thankful for my early training and education in statistics and engineering, which has allowed me to see the 'signal from the noise.'
