Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to Install Imorgon

Imorgon System Improves Patient Safety.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Oct. 28, 2014—Imorgon Medical today announced the planned installation of its Imorgon Ultrasound Enhancement System at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in the Department of Radiology and the Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment. The wholly integrated software solution from Imorgon empowers diagnostic ultrasound to deliver the highest quality of patient care through improved workflow efficiencies, diagnostic accuracy, patient safety and satisfaction.

The Imorgon System is an advanced solution that seamlessly integrates with enterprise Picture Archive Communication System (PACS) workstations, and the system’s harmonization engine provides vendor-neutral compatibility with all major ultrasound and dictation systems for streamlined workflow efficiency, greater diagnostic precision and accurate reporting.

“We are thrilled to have CHOP install the Imorgon System to address their entire ultrasound imaging process in a setting where safety and accuracy is of the utmost importance, and imaging is routinely performed on infants, children and pregnant women,” said Imorgon’s Lloyd Kreuzer, Ph.D. “Our Sonographer Quality Control (Q/C) tools allow for smoother and more efficient ultrasound exams, therefore patients spend less time on the exam table during a scan, which is critically important in a setting such as CHOP. Specifically, ultrasound study exceptions, or patient and study information, can be easily corrected and the ability to add or edit annotations, make measurements, delete images and split or merge studies is quickly performed by the sonographer directly at the system.

“In addition, our integrated electronic reporting auto-populates report templates with patient exam observations and findings, so redundant dictation is eliminated. As a result, ultrasound reports will be more complete, accurate and easy to interpret, which translates into better patient care as well as improved departmental workflow and cost savings.”

Imorgon’s Ultrasound Enhancement System is based on the DICOM industry standard for transferring images and other medical information between computers, and on the HL7 communications standard for Hospital Information Systems (HIS), which reduces the potential for enterprise workflow disruptions and downtime.
