Imorgon Announces Upgrade for GE and AGFA PACS

Integration with GE Centricity and AGFA PACS.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Nov. 18, 2014—Imorgon Medical, a developer of wholly integrated software solutions that empower diagnostic ultrasound to deliver the highest quality of patient care, today announced a significant software upgrade for the Imorgon Ultrasound Enhancement System™. The company will showcase benefits of the new software upgrade at the 100th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), Nov. 30 – Dec. 5, in Booth #6347.

The Imorgon System is an advanced solution that seamlessly integrates with enterprise Picture Archive Communication System (PACS) workstations, and the system’s harmonization engine provides vendor-neutral compatibility with all major ultrasound and dictation systems. With the new upgrade, the Imorgon System seamlessly integrates with AGFA’s IMPAX6 PACS and with GE’s Centricity PACS. The new upgrade also provides several workflow enhancements including increased security with encryption, additional tools that make creating presentations easier, teaching folder improvements and support for longer dynamic clips.

“The new upgrades empower radiologists, sonographers and health care administration to work better together, regardless of what PACS workstations or ultrasound and dictation systems are being used in the radiology department,” said Imorgon’s Lloyd Kruezer, Ph.D. “The Imorgon Ultrasound Enhancement System provides the answer for the best way to connect and communicate the ultrasound acquisition process to the diagnostic reporting process in today’s health care environment.

“In fact, several leading radiology departments nationwide that have implemented our system are realizing significant improvements in diagnostic accuracy, ultrasound exam quality, clip integration, reporting accuracy and workflow efficiency across the board, which translates into better patient care and safety,” added Dr. Kreuzer.

Imorgon’s Ultrasound Enhancement System is based on the DICOM industry standard for transferring images and other medical information between computers, and on the HL7 communications standard for Hospital Information Systems (HIS), which reduces the potential for enterprise workflow disruptions and downtime.
