3D Ultrasound Advanced with TomTec and Imorgon

3D Ultrasound Advanced with TomTec and Imorgon

13 November 2012 Andy Milkowski

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Nov. 13, 2012 – Imorgon, a developer of innovative integrated software solutions that enable the full potential of diagnostic ultrasound and TomTec Imaging Systems, a worldwide leader in 2D/3D/4D imaging and quantification technology, announced today that they have entered into a strategic partnership to advance ultrasound diagnostics through improved access to 3D ultrasound imaging.

3D Ultrasound

The new partnership is designed to ensure seamless integration with TomTec’s 4D Sono-Scan© for analysis of 3D radiologic data on multi-vendor ultrasound systems. The solution will provide radiologists the tools they require to meet the challenges they face in healthcare today.

“By joining forces, TomTec and Imorgon will help to improve workflow for hospitals and imaging centers, while enabling more confident diagnoses,” said Peter Roesch, vice president of sales and marketing, TomTec Imaging Systems. “We are happy to enter into this partnership with Imorgon and offer our customers a multi-vendor solution to review and analyze 3D radiologic ultrasound data.”

TomTec’s 4D Sono-Scan is a clinical application package offering a vendor independent solution for the processing of volume ultrasound data. The application offers a large variety of functions in radiology ultrasound, including high quality state of the art 3D volume rendering; multi-slice display; automated reference sweeps in any orientation and volume measurements.

Imorgon’s IntegratedUltrasound solution offers advanced image management and display functionality for diagnostic accuracy and efficient workflow. The software solution is optimized for viewing ultrasound studies within an integrated, image-viewing environment, enabling radiologists to automatically display all of a patient’s ultrasound studies, including clips and still images simultaneously on the same workstation used to view CT and MRI images.

Imorgon also offers comprehensive, instant access to all of a patient’s prior imaging data from CT, MRI and ultrasound, without switching workstations or re-entering patient data. The Imorgon IntegratedUltrasound solution is based on the DICOM industry standard for transferring radiologic images and other medical information between computers, and on the HL7 communications standard for hospital information systems (HIS). In addition, the IntegratedUltrasound solution allows automatic transfer of measurements made on the ultrasound system during a patient’s exam directly into the patient report. As a result, reporting errors are decreased and patient safety is improved.

“We are very pleased to be in partnership with TomTec, a leading medical imaging and information management software company with a specific focus in ultrasound,” said Lloyd Kreuzer, president and CEO, Imorgon. “Today, ultrasound is about motion, yet viewing ultrasound clips on multi-modality PACS can be cumbersome. With Imorgon IntegratedUltrasound and TomTec’s 4D Sono-Scan, radiologists have instant access to clips that display sequentially and play automatically, therefore workflow is streamlined and diagnostic capabilities are enhanced, benefiting both caregivers and their patients.”
